Update about comments

Mollom is a new free service from the founder of Drupal, Dries Buytaert. Mollom aims to banish spam comments from websites that leave their comment forms open by stepping in to check comments for spam. Each time a comment is received on the website it is whizzed over to the Mollom servers for a quick check and flagged as Spam or Ham (not spam). I understand that the procedures used by Mollom result in a 99.94% success rate. I’m gonna trial this service on Monki’s comment system for a while and see if it lives up to the promises. If the Mollom service proves useful I’ll start using it commercially at work.

Also, until I say otherwise, email notification of new comments is suspended. The Comment Notify module I’d been using to tell you and me about new comments wasn’t so intuitive and it pissed me off. I’ve switched it off for now until I can rig up something more useful.
